What is your age?
(We need to know this as our server has an age restriction): 17 years old.
-
Have you read the server rules?: Yes.
-
Do you agree with the server rules?: Yes.
-
How did you hear about Tale of Banners?: Googling "Medieval Minecraft roleplay servers".
-
Do you have any previous roleplay experience?
(Please give examples, no experience is acceptable): I have never been apart of an on-going roleplay, but I have been apart of several one-off games, such as Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder. Although not roleplay, when given an assignment for school, I tend to come up with my response in a way that fits the setting of the timeframe of the subject if applicable. (Example, if it's a medieval project, I will try to write out my assignment in medieval format if applicable).
-
Additional Information: I have Autism, although I am high-functioning. However, I still have difficulty reading emotions correctly (although that is usually restricted to more complex emotions), and have trouble read sarcasm correctly, ESPECIALLY if it's just pure text. Please bear this in mind, and provide me with proper grace accordingly.

Section 2/4 - Terms & Definitions
Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).
What do you define as roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the act of oneself or a group of people imagining themselves as different characters (although sometimes themselves), set in an alternate universe (can be an alternate timeline of their own universe), with a unique set of skills (can be identical to their real life counterparts), playing out various adventures or quests as these characters.
-
Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words: "Powergaming" is the act of illegally giving your roleplay character certain powers or having them perform certain abilities that would otherwise not give the other player(s) a chance to react (example, roleplaying an attack emotion AND the 'hit' even though the hit has yet to be rolled).
-
Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words: "Metagaming" is the act of giving your RP character knowledge that they could not have gained in any shape, form, or fashion within the confines of the roleplay. This is typically done when a player receives information Out of Character (example, Discord), and then proceeds to have their character act as if they knew that information.
-
What is a "Mary-Sue" character?: A "Mary-Sue" character is typically a 'perfect' character with little or no flaws, which is extremely unrealistic and unfair to the other characters.
-
What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?: "OOC" stands for Out of Character. Out Of Character is used in the event that a player or group of players needs to communicate information outside of the roleplay. This is typically done by putting double ('s in front and behind the message.
Example: ((Hey guys, can we hold up for a second? I got to use the bathroom.))

Section 3/4 - Character Creation
Here you will create an example character that could exist in the server’s history and lore.
Provide us with an in-game screenshot of your character’s skin:

-
Name: Vernal Bloodshine
-
Age: 18 years old
-
Culture: North Oserian
-
Can your character read and write?: Yes
-
Story & Biography: Vernal Bloodshine was born to the family of Kelly & Jacky "Madjack" Bloodshine. Kelly served as a scribe to the local Church of the One, and Jacky served as a lumberjack, although he had previously served in the Oserian Military as a Light Infantryman. Vernal was raised in a family of Commoners. They had their own house, a moderate wealth, as well as renowned devotion to the teachings of The One, moreso from his mother's side. Vernal was raised from an early age on the One's teachings, and just recently (age 16) underwent the Salvation Ceremony, dedicating His life to The One.
Vernal worked alongside his father at the local lumbermill; becoming an apprentice at age 13 and through the trainings of his father as well as personal dedication, recently received the title of Lumberjack. When he was not working at the mill, he was learning how to read & write from his mother, whether it be at the local Church or at home. One unique feature of Vernal's life is that his parents have never restrained him from interacting with the lower classes; the Peasantry. While he was taught from an early age to respect the noblemen of the land, he was also taught to respect & show compassion those who were less fortunate, something most Oserians either haven't been fortunate enough to learn, or refuse to take part in. Vernal & his family had many friends from the Peasantry, and a few from the local nobility, but mostly the former.
Vernal, now at age 18, prepares to leave his home and set out into the world beyond his hometown. Vernal's primary goal is to serve his life in the name of The One. He believes that in order to do so, he must show unrivaling compassion to everyone he meets, including that of the lower class, and even his own enemies. He wants to do what he can to aid those around him, especially the less fortunate, but he does not actively seek to overthrow or drastically change the overall outlook on the lower class, because he does not have the current power nor ability to do so. This is Vernal's story.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.
Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
...recognize that the woman is hurt, having likely been stabbed by the hooded man. I rush over to aid the woman and provide first aid, whilst yelling for the local city guard to alert them of the apparent suspect.
-
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
I spend my time in the camp walking the grounds of the camp, thanking The One for the situation. Browsing through the shopping stalls as well as interacting with those amongst the camp, whether they be refugees or those simply awaiting entrance into the city. I would also attempt to, if the opportunity arose, share some testimony regarding The One in hopes to "plant the seed" of faith into one's soul.
-
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
...inquire to the person regarding why the food is 'unpleasant' to outsiders to eat. If it is simply an upset stomach, the depending on circumstances I would buy the food. However if it is anything more, I will pass up the food and continue my search.
-
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
...spare the enemy soldier grieving for his deceased friend, saying a quick prayer to myself that the man still alive find peace and strength in this tragedy, and that the soul lost to the world be judged justly and possibly find salvation.
-
Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
I would approach the village with weapons sheathed and in the most friendly way possible. If they request it, I would be willing to surrender my resources and even my weapons to prove I am friendly, mean no harm to the people, and simply mean to restock, rest, and depart.
