Story & Biography (please go into detail, we recommend two paragraphs but expect at least one. Please outline character history, personality traits and the things that make your character unique. Have fun with this section!)

Torin was raised in the Northern mountains as an only child. It was quite lonely, being an only child, so he distracted himself with books. After his mother taught him to read it was the only thing he ever did. Immersing himself in poetry, tall tales, and fiction, he always had his nose in a book. Until he learned how to hunt. His father was a blacksmith, and taught Torin everything he knows about hunting, smithing, and the forge. His father died of sickness when he was 10 so after that he became the man of the house and did a lot of work. He values his mother and remaining family very much and does not like breaking promises. While he may act sassy and tough, and pretend to be stoic as hell, he's a big sap for romantic stuff. Take him on a walk through the snow in the chilly winter night and he'll love you forever. And if you read to him. He grew up in the midlands but moved to the Flintswood after his father died. Torin owns his father's longsword and a small dagger, and that's it for weapons, he doesn't like to fight all that much so doesn't bother with weapons besides crafting beautiful swords. He also likes to craft jewelry and trinkets.

Torin has traveled far and wide, hoping to make something of a reputation or even just be well known for his crafts. He has a wolf companion named Dorik that he takes hunting but mostly just loves to have as a companion. Torin was never much of a fighter. He has a lean build and is fairly tall. He's pretty skinny for a Northerner which isn't really skinny at all, but compared to other Northerners he is. He was always stressed after his father died, leading to his silver hair. Torin is quite talkative, as up in the snowstorms you never really get to chat so much. Leading him to pick up not just Northern but a bit of Tehn. Even if he sucks at speaking in that dialect. As far as religious beliefs go, he was raised in the Path of One but more often practices the Way of the Five. He enjoys a good night at the Tavern and is quite social after he overcomes the initial and short fright at talking to new people.

(Please note although the character you apply with can commit illegal or immoral acts you cannot do these things on the server without an Intrigue application. This can be applied for once you are whitelisted.) Found here:

https://taleofbanners.com/forum/forums/intrigue-application.119/ (Intrigue Application)
(You are also able to apply with a noble but keep in mind you cannot play a noble character on the server unless you join an accepted noble house or apply for one.) Found here:

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.

Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

- Attend to the injured woman, her life is more important than jewels. Besides, if I were to go after the thief he has a blade and I am drunk, so I'd like to not end up with the same fate as the woman. After making sure the woman is attended to properly, I would offer her some jewelry of my own making to compensate for what the thief had stolen from her.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

- Buying new books to read, and trying to sell some of my own wares. Exploring the area as well. Another past time would be making new friends to socialize with once we were accepted into the city. If it started to take too long I might consider sneaking in, but usually I'd wait my time.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

- Don't take the food, crones are not exactly to my liking. Especially one who offers me strange food. I can go a night without food, or forage for my own. Having grown up in the North you tend to come equipped with survivalist skills. So I'd set up my camp or whichever place I'm staying at. If I could not find a meal to buy that doesn't look fishy then I'd most likely go hungry that night and if I got desperate hunt the fish there instead of taking one from a shady crone.

Question 4

In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

- Find a place to hide from the enemy, and pull the soldier and his deceased companion along so he can grieve in peace. I would probably leave the enemy if he found himself feeling rather hostile towards my side after his shock wore off. If not, I'd help the man bury his friend and hold a funeral of sorts, the best I could manage. After doing so I'd get him a drink at a tavern and make sure he had a place to stay for the night.

Question 5

You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

- As a northerner I would hope they'd be a little bit friendly, as I am from the area. If not I'd still go and request a place to stay at the local inn, or a stable. Anything is better than the cold. I'd barter for food and offer jewelry and weapons in exchange for a place to stay and food.

You’re almost there! Your application is pending.

There are only a few things to change for a final decision.

Make the following edits to your application:

I would love to see some more server lore implementations in your application. If you can just put some stuff from the lore into your applicaiton to infuse it with some TOB magic :D

Once that is done, make a comment affirming you have made these changes and your application will be reviewed again as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Congratulations! Your application has been approved.

You will now be whitelisted on the server.
