Answer - Oserian

Story & Biography:

Answer -
Born in the mossy slums in the capital of Tarishaw, David was accustomed to sleeping on dirt floors with an empty stomach. His father was a thin man with a wiry beard and David almost perfectly inherited the look, save the beard. They were pig farmers, working for a fat merchant on the outskirts of town. The pay was shit enough to match the work, though they didn't complain. It wasn't unusual to see people starve to death, especially after the plague had finished destroying their city. David spent his early years helping his father feed and clean up after the pigs. However, by his early teens- shortly after his father's death- David joined a caravan to Dunsgate without looking back. He'd never been to the capital, though many of his townsfolk immigrated there for work so he thought it as wise.
He was wrong. Work was harder to find than he expected, especially considering his age. David ended up finding the occasional low-paying job in town. Although, he resulted in thievery to keep his belly full most nights and this continued until his late teens. By this time, David found the opportunity to join a band of mercenaries. Here, they taught him how to swing a sword, though not very well. He and his men were mostly guarding merchant caravans or helping lords. The pay was comfortable and he was never hungry again. It was only a few years ago that the group disbanded and it was then when he found himself selling his trade on his own.

Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.

Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

David would take a step back and instinctively grip the hilt of his blade. He'd eye the thief off before muttering a few words under his breath. Damned woman... Ladies shouldn't be alone these hours, especially in alleyways and such. The stupid woman got herself stabbed, he'd think. David would've taken another peek at the wounded woman and with a shake of his head, walk off. She's going to die, no bandage can fix that. And bullshit aside, fingers would be pointed at David if he were found by her body.

Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

David wouldn't leave the gates without a growl. It was usual for lords to pull this shit. David would eventually trot down to the camp, wasting a few kuras on some drinks to waste the time. Although, most of what he'd drink would soak down his back as he'd sweat in this foreign heat. David wouldn't complain though; he hates whiners.

Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Scared of a bowl of hot soup? What a joke. David grew up eating worse than the pigs he raised. He'd snicker and shake his head at the woman, snatching the bowl from her hands and down it. It wouldn't be an easy feat, but he'd push through, slamming the empty bowl onto the table. "Heh."

Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

"There's no point crying," David would mutter. "This is war, people die." He'd take a step forward and raise his boot, shoving it into the soldier's chest. After forcing the soldier onto his back, David would glide the tip of his blade towards the man's neck. If there eyes were to meet, the corner of David's mouth would tilt into a smirk. Without a hesitation, he'd poke the blade forward, impaling it into the soldier's flesh. David would then yank sword out and spin on his heel to retreat back with rest of his men.
