Name:

Answer - Godric d'Lavoie

Age:

Answer - Twenty-three

Culture:

Answer - Oserian

Story & Biography:

Answer - Born roughly twenty-three years ago near one of the great castles located on the Oserian plains. Godric was named in honour of the one true GOD. He had a rather rough childhood, his mother died of fever several years after he was born. His father had taken on the habit of drinking and gambling, often beating Godric for no apparent reason - in order to learn how to protect himself, Godric watched and participated in other children's rough games, battering each other with sticks to imitate soldiers and knights. Many years after, at the age of eighteen, his father passed due to some unfortunate gambling debts and that was when he decided to pack his belongings. Godric was finally ready to take his future into his own hands, he set out on a road and didn't look back. A year or two of wandering from village to village, town to town brought Godric into Dunsgate City where he enlisted into the service of House d'Alsaion. Now having served several years in their levy, Godric is ready to help them claim their position on the Throne of Oseria.

Godric is a stern oserian man of great height, standing straight at about 6'1". He has the look of someone who might make something of himself one day, a longsword appears to be sheathed on his waist.

Part 4 of 4
Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.

Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

Answer: Godric stumbled out of the tavern, slightly tipsy looking to his left and right before noticing the woman. Godric rushed over to her, quickly inspecting the wounds that she had sustained in her struggle against the cutpurse and after careful inspection of her wounds. Godric would shred a piece of cloth from his tunic and attempt to provide some form of first aid for her, should it be of any help he'd proceed to call out for help with a rather loud tone, surely someone within the tavern would heed his call for assistance and perhaps provide it for him and the woman.

Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

Answer: Godric sighed, peering at his surroundings "I must be cursed... this is the second time this week this has happened." He'd say with a frustrated tone "I suppose I have no other choice but to wait here for the time being and guard my wares." Godric would finish, proceeding to lean against his cart and guard his wares.

Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Answer: "Unpleasant?! Bah!" Godric spouted, grabbing the bowl to consume it swiftly - as a result, tasting something very strong Godric would burp several times before finally vomiting the food out on the ground, perhaps saving himself from food poisoning or some other foul magic.

Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

Answer: Godric would look around in shock, blinking several times as he eyed his surroundings and the dead soldiers laying on it. Now shifting his visage on one of the wounded soldiers, Godric sighed as he approached him. "I-.. am-.. sorry." He would apologise before unsheathing his longsword and plunging it into the man's neck, swiftly ending his life. Now glancing at the horizon and some of the men behind him, "We should return and prepare to repel this invasion." Godric stated, turning about to march in the opposite direction.

Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what has felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection, you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

Answer: Godric looked around briefly, all the hateful gazes and negativity of the town being forwarded on the outsider. "G-..good evening!" Godric greeted a group of three northerners however they turned around and ignored him. He sighed proceeding further into the town. Now stumbling upon a family consisting of a man, a woman and their daughter. Godric cleared his throat and proceeded to speak, "Do you have any supplies to exchange for items from the eastern plains?" The three ignored him and made a turn to the left, however, the man turned around and beckoned for Godric to follow him. Godric shrugged and paced forward behind him, following them into their house.

You’re almost there! Your application is pending.

There are only a few things to change for a final decision.

Make the following edits to your application:

1. Your definitions are almost right, but a bit lacking. Your roleplay definition is only half correct and your other three definitions are too vague, I'd suggest fleshing them out with more explanation or examples.

2. Your roleplay answers are good, but short. I'd like to see more than your character's first reaction to the event. Remember that you only have to answer three of these.

3. A bit more detail in your backstory, namely how your character found his way into the service of House d'Alsaion, would be good.

4. Ideally, your skin shouldn't have armour until your character has bought armour in game. The skin is fine otherwise.

Once that is done, make a comment affirming you have made these changes and your application will be reviewed again as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Congratulations! Your application has been approved. The armour on the skin isn't a big deal, as long as you're aware that unless you've bought armour on the server you can't use the armour on your skin to justify things happening in RP.

You will now be whitelisted on the server.

Make sure to take some last peeks at relevant information and guides. One note small enough that it isn't worth putting your application as pending again is that 'powergaming' can also describe when someone controls another person's character through their emotes, ie "Jacquelin swings her sword at Manfried, cutting off his arm." The better emote is "Jacquelin swings her sword at Manfried with a great force, aiming to sever Manfried's arm."

You can use ToB’s Discord for communication and questions! You will find me and other whitelisters there too, ready to teach you the ropes.
