₪ Black-bellied Longhorn Deer ₪

The black-bellied longhorn is one of the most commonly found mammals across Esna. The longhorn deer is well known throughout Oseria and The North. These creatures were quite obviously named for the black fur on the underbelly and chest of the deer and the abnormally tall and thin horns that sit on top of their heads. On average, males being larger than females, a longhorn weighs somewhere between 150 and 300 pounds. The male longhorns will regrow their antlers every year spanning a spread anywhere between 3 to 25 inches. Contrary to popular belief, the amount of branches or spikes that a deer carries does not correlate to age, but the diet of the deer and how much protein it intakes during the year. These longhorn deer will consume large amounts of food, most commonly eating vegetation that is commonly found in the forests and plains of Oseria.

Humans have hunted the longhorn for centuries. Whether it be for trophies, meat, fur, leather, or just for sport, the black-bellied longhorn has been the most commonly hunted mammal in Oseria. Being consumed as jerky, steak, or stew, the deer’s venison is consumed all over the globe as a favorite of many.
