Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).
Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).
What do you define as roleplaying?
- Roleplay is a form of cooperative storytelling, through players playing characters who live in a world of theirs or others creation. In most roleplays there are rules people follow, or a storyteller or game master but varies on the form of roleplay.
Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words:
-Powergaming is the act of acting for another or deciding how a scene should go without asking the others involved, not giving them a chance to react.
Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words:
-Meta gaming is using information learned out of character, in character. So for example if a friend has told you people are setting a trap to assassinate your character in a casual chat about what’s going on in rp. If your character would show up to the area where the trap is going to take place and wouldn’t be suspicious you should still go.
What is a "Mary-Sue" character?
-A Mary-Sue or Gary-Stew is a character who is “perfect” in every way. Always the smartest, always the prettiest, and are typically good at every skill, which is rather unrealistic. Characters should have flaws, and usually are experts in certain fields but not in everything. Characters who have skills in most things are usually a master in none.
What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?
-OOC usually means out of character, and refers to conversation between players. It can be used for just casual conversation between friends, as well as can be used to settle disputes or come to a decision on what should happen in a rp where everyone is comfortable.

Story & Biography (please go into detail, we recommend two paragraphs but expect at least one. Please outline character history, personality traits and the things that make your character unique. Have fun with this section!)
- As the lonesome villages of Crookmire Swamp began to become more cut off from each other and those of the outside world, so too did their piety decline. Cults sprung up and new, and old gods would defy the will of Tsarra. Many turned to unconventional forms of worship, a young couple of a certain isolated village among them. The two thought they were safe there until the tides of their fortune changed. The young man named Tenik, and his wife Amyra were expected, though the birth did not go well and his wife passed in the birth. Though the child was healthy and named Kwyn. It was not long after this birth that the village grew tired of the cult that resided in the village. Killing many members and burning their stilt houses, leading to Tenik fleeing further into the depths of the Bogs with his infant son.
Tenik rebuilt a home for him and his son in the swamps, away from many other villages and prying eyes, and the dangers of people. He taught Kwyn to hunt and fish for himself in the marshes, and set traps for small creatures, snares and the like. The boy never understood why they avoided people nor why his father would only allow him to wander so far. A favourite place of the boy’s to go was an old shrine not far from where the house was though it had been abandoned for some time with the only occupant being an old woman with no family to speak of. She would tell stories to the boy, and when he wasn’t helping his father with chores he’d be helping the old woman about the shrine. And things were peaceful.
Though the day came when Tenik’s past would catch up to him and his son. As when Kwyn returned home from checking the traps, his father was frantic he shoved some supplies and a bow into the boy's hands and told him to run and not look back. So Kwyn did as he was told he ran from his home in the Swamps and out to explore the world.
Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
- Kwyn peeking around into the Alleyway, seeing the bleeding woman would run back into the tavern to search for help. Tugging at the arm of the nearest capable looking person he can to get their attention and gesturing for them to follow. If the person chooses to follow he would lead them to the woman in the alley way, if not he’d keep going through trying to get the attention of tavern owners until he found someone who would.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
- Seeing as there was no way into the city, as the guards had barred him from entering Kwyn would begin to wonder about the camp, inspecting the wares. He’d rifle through his own pack, though realising how little money he had, he’d stick to simply browsing. Having found nothing which really piqued his interest other than a few odd looking fruits, he’d take a seat under a nearby tree to observe those going by, and try and listen in on any nearby conversation.
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
- Kywn clutches his bow tightly as he approaches the man, his knuckles turning white as he does so. Realising the man was no threat to him the Drahl boy lowers his bow, briefly outstretching a hand considering trying to comfort him. Enemy or not it seems cruel to leave the man in such a state. He’d look up briefly from the man, seeing as the enemy was beginning to advance. The man’s comrades should be here soon. Kwyn would step away instead turning to head for the woods, and leave the man to grieve.
