- Multiple tabletop roleplaying games over the last 6ish years. Mostly D&D 5E, acting as both a DM and a player. Additional Information: (If any)

Section 2/4 - Terms & Definitions
Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).

What do you define as roleplaying?

- Individually it is acting as a character, or simply 'playing' that person. To talk and act through the mindset of the character and to only rely on that characters knowledge. As a collective roleplaying is akin to group storytelling through these characters, weaving a narrative via their interactions.

Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words:

- Powergaming is basically using the system or your roleplay to maximise your success or progress. Using a mechanic or forcing acts in roleplay in order to win.

Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words:

- Using knowledge that the character doesn't know for in character purposes. OOC or real life knowledge to determine the characters actions, even if the character doesn't know.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?

- A flawless or perfect character, usually with unearned or starting grand power. These characters are boring because of their idealization.

What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?

- Out of Character, used to communicate with others outside of roleplaying.
Section 3/4 - Character Creation

Name:

- Bevan Kendrid

Age:

- 21

Culture:

- Drahl-Folk

Story & Biography (please go into detail, we recommend two paragraphs but expect at least one. Please outline character history, personality traits and the things that make your character unique. Have fun with this section!)

(Please note although the character you apply with can commit illegal or immoral acts you cannot do these things on the server without an Intrigue application. This can be applied for once you are whitelisted) Found here:

https://taleofbanners.com/forum/forums/intrigue-application.119/ (Intrigue Application) (Intrigue Application)

- Born of House Kendrid, Bevan was the youngest of his kin, in a family that held up the standards for what it meant to be off the Crookmire Swamp. Though the House Kendrid was not especially powerful or large, they embodied the nature of the Drahl along with the family's good, pious disposition. His childhood was deepset within the culture of the Crook, being the youngest of the family he was not beholdened to any predetermined position, allowing him to explore every aspect of his people. One of his particular interests were the many concotions that could be made from the various ingredients of the swamp. This included both recreational alcohol and the herbal medicine that the Drahl have become known for. This interest eventually branched into a curiousity for what else the world had to offer him. He went out in search of further understanding and experience with the world outside the swamp.

During his travels he was able to learn a bit more about the cultures of the land, as well as being more sociable with others than many other Crookmen. Though it was when he met his mentor that his story truly began. While travelling in the Oserian Plains he met Jinek, a memeber of the now nigh extinct Yaelk Nomads. He taught him some of the history and skills that would soon be forgotten about the Yaelk Nomads. Despite teaching him some combat skills, he expressed his distaste for violence. Telling Bevan instead to only protect his way of life, so that it may not be lost to time. Bevan took this to heart and decided to go on to live a peaceful lifestyle, one where he could still learn from others. He decided the best way to do this was to perhaps create his own tavern as to meet as many travelers as he can. He is an open-minded free thinker that wishes to socialize and learn as much as he can, without much conflict. Though should his family or people call upon him, he could be persuaded to help them.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.

Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

- Bevan would go directly over to the wounded figure and help tend to their wounds. Ensuring their in no danger of death before any further actions, believing the jewellry is worth very little compared to her life. Once assured that that the woman is safe, he would help to go report to local authorities. Giving a description and possible direction of the thief for them to go after the brigand. If it seemed necessary, Bevan would be even willing to help track down the thief, though would not wish to be in direct conflict unless completely necessary.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

- Bevan would explore the stalls and the people around him. Gathering exotic supplies from the stalls, while learning as much as he could from those around him of their own past and current situations. Though he would be all too aware of the possibility of theft, ensuring his own wares are kept safe and close if possible. If the time to enter became immense, Bevan would search the camp for those with alternative methods of entering, or even attempting to entice the guards to speed the process up for himself.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

- Bevan would be slightly unsure about the situation, but his own heritage would help comfort him about her proposal. His own curiousty would want to know more about the food that is given, asking as many questions as he could, even keeping some for later. Also he would inquire more about this person, learning more about a persons history and skills is very important to Bevan.
