Name:
Answer - Bolivar de Rieu
Age:
Answer - 25
Culture:
Answer - Oserian
Story & Biography:
Answer -
Bolivar de Rieu was born to Ariaan and Joseph de Rieu, in the a small town within the Duchy of Avendale. He spent his days as a child working the family farm, however has grown to become a man in recent years and set out on a journey of his own; to find a place for himself and hopefully a future family elsewhere in Esna. As a child Bolivar was picky, and had a sense of righteous indignity that drove his actions. He thought himself above others, despite it being clear that the family was not.
Not well educated, having been raised on a farm; most of Bolivar's knowledge of the outside world and different cultures came from what he was told by the other children in their small hamlet. He was always drawn to more creative pursuits, often times neglecting his duties on the farm in favor of playing swords with the neighbor boy. This is something that has carried over into adulthood, and greatly impacted his decision to leave behind the family farm in favor of wandering the earth. Bolivar found himself often discontent, plowing the earth and harvesting the crops day after day; a change was needed and it couldn't come soon enough.

Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.
Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
Answer:
Seeing the woman in clear need of help, Bolivar would take a moment and turn to see the robber in action. His drunk reflexes being too slow, he only caught a glance of him before he turns the corner. Being the noble and kind man that he is, Bolivar would chase after the man only to stumble over a bit of broken barrel left in the alleyway and land on his face. An injury to the head, as well as the embarrassment of his recent fall looming over him; He would elect to simply remain on the ground until the situation resolved its self on its own. Eventually Bolivar would pick himself up off the ground, having pretended to be asleep in my embarrassment; I would then saunter off to my home or whatever tavern I had been staying in and proceed to never speak about it again.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
Answer:
Bolivar would find the cleanest, least dusty place to sit and wait there until he's allowed entry. He would keep his belongings close to his chest, as well as make sure not to make conversation with any of the suspicious looking refugees (all of them). Bolivar would be trying his best not to anger any of the refugees in the area, as he had heard tale of their rowdy nature; and wouldn't want to get caught in the middle of any inter-gang conflicts going on. Doing his best to hold back disgust, he would focus on what brought him to the city in the first place- selling wares to provide for his family. Soon this would all be over and Bolivar could go back to living the proper Oserian way that he'd been meant to.
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
Answer:
With no other alternatives, Bolivar would buy the soup and deal with what he got. Assuming it is as disgusting as she had told him it would be, he would make sure to remember this occasion and never again be foolish enough to end up stranded in Drahl lands. Bit by bit he would gulp down his meal, filling his mind with the pie that mother would make for his birthday, or the broiled boar liver that he would get at the shop. Truly a disgusting dish, though it sated his hunger for the time being. Bolivar would roll over on his back, groaning to the open air as he tried his best to put this foul act behind him.

Describe the term ‘powergaming’
Answer - Powergaming is the abuse of the roleplay system to give yourself an unfair advantage over another player.
For example:
- Player A swings his sword at player B
- Correct Emote: *<Player A> would swing his sword at <Player B>*
- Incorrect Emote: *<Player A> swings his sword at <Player B>, cutting off his head in one fell swoop.*
- This is incorrect because Player B does not have an opportunity to respond, and is effectively forced into an action.
- Player C and Player D are having an arm wrestling competition.
- Correct Emote: *<Player C> would try to apply pressure to the hand of <Player D>*
- Incorrect Emote: *<Player C> would force the hand of <Player D> to the table, ending the match just as quickly as it began.*
- This is incorrect because Player C has effectively won the competition without going through the proper RP steps, and again has forced Player D into a situation where they get no choice.
