Story & Biography:

Answer -

The Yaelkan, a great nomadic Steppe people for the past many years have been taken and made use of in the Gladiator Pits. The Grandfather of Temür was such a man, Baelbo was his name.

Vaelbo, taken from his slave parents as a child to the pit grew in skill. Him like his ancestors excelled in the art of Mounted combat, and such battles were made in the fighting pits, and some weren't. He had to adapt, he had to use other weapons, and abandon links of his culture to win. He made use of heavy steel weaponry and armor, for the agile blades of his people proved to thin to Pierce the armor of hardened gladiators.

Yet he was of the Yaelkan, so he adapted and fought. A Lion among mere hyenas in the pits, victory followed victory after victory. So titled “Gods” were left skewered by Yaelkan styled spears and javelins. A champion of the pits, his name on every child's tongue. A champion remembered by the Iron mask he proudly bore in combat, which won him the title “Vaelbo The Iron Veiled”.

And soon, at the ripe age of 26, he won his freedom. He sired 2 sons, with a wife he loved (Who soon later died 4 years after his children's birth). The first was to die a few days after birth and the second to grow a worthless drunken man, who would waste away with a bottle always at hand.

A stain on Vaelbo's legacy and name, yet the worthless son of his (Let's call him Khagte), at the age of 17 had a bastard with a local prostitute. Unable to raise and protect the child, Vaelbo would soon have to looked after himself on his own, naming him “Temür” after a great warrior his parents spoke of in the tales they would tell him.

Temür would be the son Vaelbo wished to have had, he would love him, teach him of combat and his legacy. And starting at the age of 5, he would teach him the art of Mounted combat. An Ex Champion and a Young boy, this would be Temür's life, and he would love it.

At the age of 16, Temür's Grandfather would fall Ill, and die. All this thanks to poison from Temür's own father (for he never “loved him” so he grew jealous, and drunks are white radical). When Temür would hear such things spew from his mouth, while he was drunk and the lock to his brain quite open, he would choke his father to death.

Temür would grab his Grandfather's old equipment and horse. He would set out on his own to the capital, maybe as a sellsword? But surely he would bring his father's Iron Veil.

Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.

Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

Answer: It is none of Temür's business, and he'd rather not get himself into trouble he would later regret. He would simply walk away, and continue with his own business, maybe grab a drink as well.

Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

Answer: Temür would check the stalls, check if there is anything of worth, or signs which signal need for a sellsword. Hey may also look around for a proper meal.

Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Answer: Temür would speak of his Drahlish blood, yet he would rather not die a quick death. He would make use of a javelin and try his luck catching his own food from within the swamp.

Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

Answer: Slaughter the two of them, I am in combat for two reasons: 1. for my life and I'd rather not give life to those who threatened my own. 2. I'm being paid for such a thing, and professionalism is a deadly trait.

Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

Answer: Go over to the Village and make my presence known, I am a warrior and the north enjoys their fairshare of warrior kin. All men have their price, and gold can surely make a villager accept a foreigner.
