Section 2/4 - Terms & Definitions

Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).

What do you define as roleplaying?

-Roleplaying is acting as another, basing the actions off of the character created

Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words:

-Powergaming is roleplay actions that do not give other players a chance to react. Such as roleplaying "Shoves a dagger into the heart" without allowing the other player to react or consent. Giving yourself that unfair advantage

Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words:

-Metagaming is out of character knowledge being used in roleplay, which also gives your character an unfair advantage toward other players.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?

-A character that already seems perfect and does not need any development.

What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?

- Out of Character, this should be used when speaking out of the roleplay context

Story & Biography
Sigourney was born in a small village located very far north of Valdarr. Her parents Golaf and Mathilda had many children together but most died in infancy. It was after a period of 5 miscarriages that Sigourney was born, her mother dying in the child bed. She was not very fond of her step-mother who she had always found weak. During her childhood she was very close to her father who she found was the mightiest warrior. There was little time for toys or fun in her youth, so she found the most peace in hunting. The sport soothed her mind while also providing for her family. Her brother was once gifted a wolf, which she became very fond of. She was close to her brother Thirin who was only a little older than her. Together they often hunted and made homemade instruments to make music for the family. Sigourney always thrived to be like her father. Often sparring with her brothers, trying to be better then them. Better than a man.
When she was 16 a rough winter fell upon the mountainside where their clans longhouse sat. They were stuck inside for at least a month. Food became scarce and she almost died of starvation. It was then when the spring began she left her family to go further south. Never wanting to go hungry ever again. It was as she took her leave that her father told her that you do not abandon your family and clan. But why would she stay if she felt the clan would die. Her father told her, if you leave now you shall never return. In rage of this she took her leave, but it was soon later she knew of her mistake. It brought her great sadness and she wished to be alone, while she also wanted to prove to herself that she could rely on just herself. So on a cliffside north of Valdarr she found a small cave with a hot spring in the bottom. She covered the entrance with a hide wall, and made it her home. But as she approached 18 she came to the conclusion that she could no longer be alone. She had been lonely long enough. Sigourney then went towards Valdarr to find herself a place in the world.
Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.

Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

- Sigourney would rush to the bleeding woman. Attempting to use any fabric on her to stop the bleeding. She would yell as loud as she could for help. Picking the woman up if she could, and taking her into the tavern for aid if none came to help. Sigourney would stay by the woman's side doing whatever she could to help her, until she was well again.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

- Sigourney would browse the stalls, not trusting to sleep in such an open place. Although she would look at all the fineries, Sigourney would find it idiotic to spend good money on uneccessary items. She could find hide for clothes and meat for food from hunting herself after all. If she found a good ale however, she would perhaps pay for a good barrel of it. She would drink alone, being very cautious of these people who were not from her origins.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Question 4

In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

- Sigourney would show no sympathy to her enemy. It is the price of war after all. Towards the crying soldier she would feel resentment, while his brothers fight he lays crying. Sigourney would show no mercy, using her sword to kill him as quickly as possible. Probably by a sword to the head. She would leave the scene and continue in the fight, no thoughts of it until the battle is done.

Question 5

You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

- Sigourney could not give up this chance to get warm and gather resources. She would meet with the village leader, explaining her plight. And would offer her services of labor or fight to secure some resources to continue on. She would attempt to trade anything of value for arrows so that she could hunt, and would ask of her location so she would know where to came from here. She would walk on her toes, knowing that she herself wouldn't take well to strangers coming into her village.
