Story & Biography
Atrena was abruptly woken by a small crate slamming into her hip as the side wheels of the caravan that she slept in came to a large dune of sand. She rubbed her eyes to the sight of mid day light shinning through the cloth curtains that kept in the dark from the mouth of the caravan. Atrena pulled open the curtains to the sight of several similar caravans to hers following behind. Atrena pulled herself up atop of the caravan and climbed along the roof that was now close beginning to straiten out after crossing the dune. She crawled to the front of the caravan to both her parents who sat at the helm. Atrena's parents where the leaders of a small band of merchants who traveled across the desert in search of goods and trade. The band was not too wealthy but they had enough to get by. along with the caravans and wagons filled with goods they also traveled with a few animals for pulling the caravans, fur, wool, and if needed, meet. As Atrena approached the helm her mother looked back and gestured a seat between her and her father. "Hungry?" her mother asked pulling some cooked fish from a satchel attached to the side of the helm. Atrena took the fish and began to dig in without saying a word. "Where are we headed?" Atrena asked with a moth full of food. "Telth." her father explained bluntly. "Why?" Atrena continued while stuffing her face once again. "we just sold most of our goods." Her father turned to her mother and gestured her to tell her. "you know that old box of jewelry that we have stored in the back of the caravan?" Her mother asked her. "Yeah, the ones that you always got mad at me for trying on as a child?" Atrena laughed with her remark. "Yes that one. well we got word that there is a man in Telth that is willing to pay quite high for rare jewels like that." Atrena's eyes widen as she looked at her mother and father "are those not from your childhood mom, you cant sell those." "it is okay. we are short on money right now and need some new livestock. besides, it is not like i ever wear it anyways." her mother assured her.

As they entered town Atrena watched as the guards opened the gates for them. it has been quite some time since Atrena has been in Telth and she always enjoyed when they went there for trade. "just remember atrena, stay close, this town is very busy and it is easy to get lost here." her father said to her as the entered through the gates. "I know" Atrena pitched back to him. "and remember, despite your instincts, dont trust people here, they don't always have the best interest for you." "I know" Atrena repeated in the same tone. Atrena thought of herself as quite independent but she knew not to question her father, even if she did think of herself old enough to travel around the city on her own. As her father parked the caravan, the band followed and parked near him. Some members walked around the city to buy and sell with the rest staying by the caravans. Atrena watched as other children that she knew from the band take off with their parents and she turned to look at her parents unloading the box of jewelry from their caravan. "can we do some shopping after?" Atrena asked her parents after they got unloaded. As they walked down the streets of the town Atrena and her parents were stooped by a group of travelers asking a question in a language that was unknown to Atrena, her father however answered the man in his own tongue. Her father could speak several languages and it reminded Atrena of how big the world was when ever she heard him speak one. "When will I be old enough to explore Telth on my own?" she asked her parents like she did every time they came to the city. her parents looked at each other and then back at her. "soon" her father replied.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

-Atrena takes to the camp to search for those who wish to trade. She knows the value of what she has and the words of her parents keep echoing in her head to not trust anyone on the value of their own goods and only trade for what she needs. Upon seeing a mother with a child who both look to be starving she pulls some food out of her bad and hands it to them with a smile and continues down the streets of the camp looking for anything she needs. she knows that she does not really need anything in the city and if she can get the trading done in the camp then there is no reason to continue into the city. after forcing her focus back to the markets from each vendor selling pretty gems or jewelry she finally sees a merchant selling the tools that she needs. upon heading to the merchant and reaching for her coin purse her hand hits the fabric of her skirt for her eyes to jolt down to meet the empty hand where the purse no longer remained.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

-Atrena takes out the small amount of coin that the woman asked for and pays for the meal. She then takes it to solitude to enjoy her meal. upon finally sitting down and looking at the unknown dish she pokes at it for a bit thinking about what the woman said about the dish. Atrena pulls a little piece off of what she thinks to be the head and slowly brings it to her mouth. Before she can even take a bite she squirms with disgust and puts the piece back where it came from. She then throws the meal to the ground and falls on her back in defeat knowing that now she will need to find new meal.

Question 5

You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

- Atrena wonders into the village slowly. She is aware of the danger that is presented but she ventures forth regardless. In is in her hope that her young age and innocent face will let the villagers know that she does not mean any harm. she walks further and further into the village with thoughts filling her head. She was used to talking her way out of any situation though she was not very sly but this time she knew she would be lucky if even one person in the village spoke the same language as her. Perhaps if she could find a traveler who spoke the same language as her and if not, she hoped that at least one would be able to address the situation and help her. as she walked through the village she felt the presence of eyes watching her from the houses along the streets. down the road she saw a bright light shinning from what she expected to be a fire and people around it. she slowly approached hoping that she looked helpless enough that they would help her, as she did not have the energy to run if her plan went south.

Congratulations! Your application has been approved.

You will now be whitelisted on the server.

Lots of detail here! well done.

The application does have a few minor spelling and grammar mistakes, "meet" instead of meat for example. Please keep in mind that other players on the server expect a high standard of English when roleplaying.

I can see from this application a good understanding of character development and roleplay! Remember that powergaming in a roleplay context can also mean forcing your actions on other players.

All in all a great app with lots of detailed information and a well developed backstory!

Make sure to take some last peeks at relevant information and guides.

You can use ToB’s Discord for communication and questions! You will find me and other whitelisters there too, ready to teach you the ropes.
