Story & Biography:
- (Get ready, its long)
- Kit (Naverre) was born to a family of 5 in a small village of Midlands Folk. She had a sister named Lyona (Niogra) and a brother named Harlemec (Teranvyl) Her father, Malcom (Teranovagra), was an excellent mason and Chieftain of his village, along with Kit’s closest friend. Her mother, Tera (Nashara), was more distant to her daughter, giving most of her attention to her other two children.
- From birth, Kit had been cursed with the burden of never being able to see her family, due to being blind. Her mother was distraught and thought Kit was a lost cause, while her father always supported her and trained her how to fight, despite her condition. He dutifully practiced with her every day in the arts of archery and knife throwing, crafting her both a lightweight, silver-iron bow and a set of lethal silver-iron knives almost as unique as she was. As the years wore on, Kit became masterful of both weapons, known for her stunning ability to hit a target dead center during a whiteout (hence the nickname Snowstrike).
- Despite her ailment and being very weak as a child, she was considered fairly unique and attractive to the Northerners, with her silvery blonde hair, pastel eyes, and seemingly ageless face. People tended to smile when she passed by, pausing their work for a moment to talk or greet her. She made friends with everyone… which did not always mean a good thing. One day, when wandering, she ran into a Grulk boy, around her age. They became fast friends, spending most of their time together. Years passed, and a small feud between Grulk warriors and her village started. The boy sold out Kit to them, getting her captured, just to listen as her people fought for her and the other prisoners, getting slaughtered easily against the larger enemy group.
- Kit, along with a few other hostages, managed to escape and wait out the battle in the snow. They made their way back to the ravaged camp, greeted by only flames, bodies, and rubble. Before the grieving Northerners could stop the girl, she fled in tears, ultimately blaming herself for the whole attack, despite it having already been planned before her capture. The girl kept running until nightfall, where she wearily wandered, reaching a forest around midnight.
- 14 years later (present day), Kit has learned to survive in the wilderness practically anywhere, a wolf named Kamaru and an owl named Sashina by her side. She’s visited most of the settlements around the globe, even returning back to the abandoned ruins of her village to retrieve her bow, knives, and other useful items. She’s a stone cold, clever bitch of a traveler who could be an assassin, for the right price. She drinks whenever she finds time to because it reminds her of home, and can be manipulated easily when drunk.
- Kit mainly resides in forests, preferring to sleep in trees or thickly wooded areas than on open ground. If hired as an assassin, she will travel and shelter with the group, but usually sleep in trees near the camp. You can find her on her own if you look hard enough, but that probably means she’s seen you first. If you do come across her campsite, instead of a warm drink and old tales, expect an arrow aimed at your head. If you prove trustworthy enough, you may score a quick meal or directions, but nothing more. If either Kamaru or Sashina doesn’t like you, she’ll immediately drive you off, since the animals seem to be her closest companions and eyes. If a character calls her Naverre, she’ll usually start crying and angrily ask how you know that, aiming one of her weapons at your chest.
Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
- I manage to throw a knife in the thief’s general direction, knowing it will hit him somehow, fatal or not. I make my way over to the woman, ripping off a piece of my cloak to stem the bleeding as I call over more people to help and catch the now injured or dead thief.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
- I spend my time in camp avoiding people, staying in the shadows and listening. I don’t talk to anyone else unless needed, and have a hand on my dagger, just in case. My hood stays up, and I’m ready for anything.
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
- I take the food but keep looking. If I can find a better meal before its too dark, then the offered food is going to Kamaru or Sashina. If not, then I check it for poison or any other things that could kill me. If there is any traces, then I’ll go hungry that night.
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
- I watch with sympathy as my arrow flies through his head, knowing what it was like to lose someone. I reload my bow, aiming for the enemy troops like nothing just happened. There is no sympathy or mercy on the battlefield, just victory and defeat.
Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few meters ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
- I try to reason with the Northerners, bringing up both my and my father’s tribal names. If they don’t recognize them, then I’ll offer to guard their village in compensation of their hospitality. If still denied stay, I make a small camp behind one of the houses, using Kamaru and Sashina as some source of warmth throughout the night. At dawn, I’m already a long way from the village, heading towards the next form of civilization.
