Name:
Answer - Otto Reichsten
Age:
Answer - 23
Culture:
Answer - Oserian
Story & Biography:
Answer -
Otto Reichsten was born into... well... Nothing. His birth and childhood were spent in a small insignificant town in the middle of nowhere. He was nothing but an orphan to most of the people there, and although some showed him kindness, others simply exploited him or ignored him. Yet, he survived by pitching in during harvest and planting season and doing household chores for a few of the peasants during the winter months. During this time of helping out around various houses, some of the kinder elderly women of the town taught him how to read, and write, at least what tidbits they individually knew. Yet with their accumulated knowledge he soon mastered the craft, and began to stockpile and read through books voraciously.
His life wasn't terrible though, his free time was spent in the woods and meadows, exploring every knook and cranny and discovering all sorts of wildlife he often gave his own pet names too. The wilderness slowly became his home, and as adulthood came upon him, he found himself hunting and selling pelts to tanners and meat to butchers, finally making a true living. Yet he never bought a house, never found a pretty girl to settle down with, rather he stayed in the wilderness, sleeping in trees or on beds of moss. His favorite place to sleep, and what he would basically call 'home' was a small grove who's surrounding treeline and thickets made it all but inaccessible except one path. Here he stockpiled what books he could find, as well as his earnings, and anything else he found of interest. The usual hiding places for the valuables was in a few hollowed out trees, while the books he often left in piles under lean-tos to protect them from the elements. This love of books, mixed with his knowledge of nature, quickly saw him become adept at horticulture, herbs, and some minor medicines.
However, when the army came knocking on his metaphorical doorstep, he couldn't resist the call. Taking his bow and scraps of treated leather armor, he would join the military to get a more formal education on warfare and the use of the bow. He saw little combat, mostly going after bandit groups or patrolling similarly small and insignificant towns as his home. Yet he was forever an oddball, preferring to sleep alone in the woods rather than a cluttered camp or barracks. Some of the men grumbled at apparently being favored by the captain for letting him sleep away from the others and to have more autonomy and freedom. Yet his skills as a scout, woodsman, and medic (which he was trained up in farther during his training) prooved priceless, and he felt that these skills gave him the right to this extra autonomy.
Now adays, he finds himself a citizen once again, having given up the military life. Will he return to it? Settle down finally? Maybe start up another hunting business? Who knows! But the future does indeed look promising.

At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.
Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
Answer: Otto, stunned by this sudden appearance stands there stunned as he assesses the situation. For one, he could hunt down a criminal, get some jewelry, and be hailed as a hero, or he could save this woman. Ah fuck it, he was a bit too chivalrous sometimes for his own good... probably those books he reads. He would rush to the woman's aid, assessing the wound quickly before tearing off the sleeve of his shirt. He would quickly wrap it around the woman's wound/torso and pull it as tightly as he could. He dared not remove any article of clothing for this, and felt it should do. With that, he would haul her up to his arms, and dash to the nearest healers. However, the healer wouldn't be in. Finding what instruments he could as well as medicines, he would give her some pain medicines before sewing up the wound as best he can.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
Answer: Otto had always wanted to be to Telth, well, anywhere in Korsian territory that was. It fascinated him, the smells, vibrant colors, and especially the people and their strange dress. Yet he HATED the heat. He would retreat under a nearby canopy of cloth away from the heat. He came to sell wares... salted meats from his journeys, these people would be just as willing to buy as those inside the city, maybe if not more since some must be starving! He would begin to advertise his wares, and soon has almost run out. As he haggles over the last piece of salted venison, he sees it dissapear! One of the street rats has it and is sprinting away with it! Otto sprints after the kid, and after a short chase, finds him running into a tent. He creeps over, peering in to find him offering the meat to his obviously sick mother. It would take Otto only a second to decide what to do... Reaching into his pocket he would withdraw some coin, toss it through the flap of the tent, and begin the journey home.
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
Answer: Turn her down. Swamps may not be his speciality but he'll find SOMETHING in this place.
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
Answer: Otto knew this feeling, seeing your comrade die... He had experienced it only a few times during some bandit raids but this was the real thing. He was terrified, and Otto found himself sprinting away from the two of them. He had to get back behind allied lines, grab his bow, defend himself, it was not up to him to decide the fate of the sorrowful and the weak... Yet this decision would haunt him for the rest of his life.
Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
Answer: Otto would wait on the outskirts of town until nightfall, trying to stay as hidden as possible. Then, as farmers retired to their homes, he would steal a local chicken or something left outside to eat, before hurrying on his way, to find a safe place to pluck, butcher, cook, and eat the poor fowl.
