Story & Biography
- I was found as a young child with my pet wolf pup, in a village somewhere near the eastern edge of the Northern territory, that appeared to have been attacked by Drahl, the only reason I had just barely survived was because I had fallen into a pit just outside the village and hit my head, I only survived the cold because of my pet wolf pup. When I was found I was taken in by a family who tried to raise me as they would any other northern child. But alas it was for not, I discovered that I had a tendency to wander and cause no end of trouble for everyone in the village. As I got older, it became apparent I was not made for life in the north, I still tried to help, but either failed or just made a bigger mess. In fact the only thing I was good at was making ale and mead, but even in that I failed once to many. In the end I decided to leave and explore the world. I thanked my foster family for taking care of me, then left to explore the rest of the northern region. I soon discovered that I could find certain plants pretty easily, and took to gathering them for money, especially snowblisters, as they are delicious and used for many different things. As I traversed the area, I become more adept at hunting and sneaking, as well as using a bow and climbing. As I wander with my wolf, Ylva, I head south, to discover what the world is like. Besides, I might just find someplace I could settle and live for the rest of my life, maybe with someone who will cherish me no matter what.
Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
- Run into the alley and help the woman to a nearby physician, I pay for her medical needs and proceed to try and find the man who hurt her. If I fail, I come back and try to help the woman and her family for a month or so until they can support themselves once again. If the woman dies, I will help the family for few months or longer so that way they can support themselves for a while until they can find jobs or such.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
- I try to sell some of the stuff while I wait. If a week passes and they show no sign of letting people in, I will leave and go to different city to trade. If I do get in, I will sell my wares quickly and the stuff I need and leave.
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
- Try it. If I like it, ask for the recipe so you can make it again at some other time. If it tastes disgusting, finish it quickly, then chug a bucket of water to get the taste out.
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
- Kneel down and help the soldier carry his comrade off the battle field to give him a proper burial. Then I leave, sick with disgust at the lives being wasted by nobles and kings for wars that are meaningless to the peasant populace.
Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
- Tell them I'm northern, then ask if I can do a job for a pile of hay in a stable stall.
