How old are you? (We need to know this as our server has an age restriction): 17

Have you read through our rules? (Found here): Yes

Do you agree with our rules?: I do

How did you hear about Tale of Banners?: I was looking for medieval RP servers and came across Tale of Banners

Do you have any previous roleplay experience?: I do although not a major amount, so I am still fairly new to it. I adapt quickly though so it shouldn't be an issue.

Is there anything you would like to add?: Nothing that has any immediate RP implications

Part 2 of 4
Terms & definitions
Answer these definitions using your own words. The definitions can be looked up if necessary, however, copy-pasting is not allowed.

What do you define as roleplaying?: Roleplaying is creating a character or story in which you react the way the character you have created would. (That one might not have made too much sense.)

Describe the term ‘powergaming’: Powergaming is having a character be perfect at everything they do.

Describe the term ‘metagaming’: Having a character know something they literally cannot know because they weren't told about it or using real-life knowledge to influence your character.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?: A female character with no flaws.

Part 3 of 4
Character Creation
Here you will create a character to use on our server.

Provide us with an in-game screenshot of your character’s skin: I attached the file to the application.

Name: Necari Drake

Age: 23

Culture: Northerner (Midlands Folk)

Story & Biography: Necari Drake is a Northerner who never really fit in as he wasn't as bulky or muscular as the other Northern men, and he wasn't as tall seeing as he was only about 6 ft 3 in. Necari's parents never really cared for him so he took care of himself the majority of the time while they weren't really in the "picture" so he has an almost underdevelopment when it comes to his emotions. Necari looks at things analytically and without emotional thinking which often helps him make decisions. Necari was also different from the other Northerner's as he enjoyed the company of men more than women although it wasn't really an issue as he kept to himself most so no one knew about his different views. Necari decided to venture out to other cities and parts of the world after making the decision to leave his family and people behind and explore what the world had to offer him. (Not the best story but he is young so he doesn't have much life experience yet.)

Part 4 of 4
Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewelry on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

Answer: I worry about the woman more than the fleeing thief as one is in a critically injured condition. I pick the woman up in a bridal style carrying her inside the tavern and pay for a room. I carry her to the room gently placing her down on the bed taking off my over shirt tearing it into a long piece of cloth setting it to the side as I tend to the wound. Grabbing a blade from my things I hold it over the fire from the fireplace heating it up enough to cauterize the wound stopping the bleeding enough for now before I can get her to a doctor. I take the cloth that I made from the shredded shirt and wrap it around her and tighten it enough for it to work as a sort of bandage. I leave and find a doctor and show him to the room where the injured woman lays. I tell him what happened and ask him to take care of her while paying for the treatment. (I cut it short because I didn't have any context for what my character was doing after he left the tavern.)

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Answer: I dismiss the woman's notions as I don't really care about the taste of it as I am just looking for food. I practically scarf down the food without much second thought as I was hungry enough to "eat a horse". I start to realize what the woman was meaning by unpleasant as my stomach starts to rumble telling me it doesn't really agree with what I just ate. I keep a straight face as I thank her and pay for the food all while finding an abandoned spot to try and keep my food in my stomach and hoping it doesn't come back up. I manage to keep the contents of my stomach down as I move on through the town looking for what brought me here originally.

In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

Answer: As much as I want to know what was happening in front of me, I ended the soldier's screaming and crying by putting an end to their suffering altogether. I moved on searching for where the enemy forces are moving in from and went the opposite direction of them and back towards the side of the field in which I won't be attacked on sight. I continued to wonder about those two soldiers and their relationship to each other on my way back to the other side of the battlefield. I don't think the man deserved to die but with my limited time to act, I did what best benefitted me and then got out of there. (I didn't really know what to do with this prompt but I hope I did well enough)

Congratulations! Your application has been approved.
Your application's great for the most part, just be careful to stay mindful of circumstance once roleplaying on the server. When presented with a situation like heavy alcohol usage, any character's abilities would be glaringly impaired, etc. Researching powergaming more in-depth should help you be ready!
You will now be whitelisted on the server.
Make sure to take some last peeks at relevant information and guides.

You can use ToB’s Discord for communication and questions! You will find me and other whitelisters there too, ready to teach you the ropes.
