Terms & definitions
Answer these definitions using your own words. The definitions can be looked up if necessary, however copy-pasting is not allowed.

What do you define as roleplaying?

Answer - Roleplaying is the act of assuming the role of a character you have created or been assigned. Within this character you act, react, and go about your day as said character would. Along the way you interact with fellow characters and create a mini universe for yourself within the realm of minecraft.

Describe the term ‘powergaming’

Answer - Powergaming is always one of two things:
  1. Making your character ridiculously overpowered or unbeatable.
  2. When you do not give the other person(s) the opportunity to respond or react or taking complete control of the situation. For example: Bob draws his sword and stabs Jim to death, Jim was unable to defend himself so sad.

Describe the term ‘metagaming’

Answer - Metagaming is using information you gained OOCly while you are roleplaying ICly. It can also be simply avoiding certain locations because you learned about a planned attack while you were OOC.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?

Answer - A mary sue character is an idealized projection of the author's self. Like a sort of fictional wish fulfillment. Basically an every man with many skills and beauty. No apparent weaknesses as well as unsupported skills from roleplay.

Story & Biography:

Answer - Steve grew up in a rather simple setting. His family owned a farm set rather peacefully in a valley by the wood. His parents were kind enough and though they never had much they tried their best to give their two children the best of life. Steve’s brother, Jonathan, was the far more uptight of the two. He would often rat out Steve for simple ventures into town or careless words he would let slip. Although Steve lived a simple life he never really desired more. He was quite content with his simple life free, mostly, of responsibility. One day this became overly apparent in his work (or lack thereof) on the farm; his parents kicked him out, right on his 18th birthday. Steve, of course, was not phased by this simply brushing it off as a new opportunity for less responsibility.

Steve learned very quickly of the harshness that was the world beyond the small farm nestled in the valley. Money became a very new necessity and he had no clue how to get his hands on it. That was until he met Ivan. Ivan was a like minded man- well in a way- where Steve had a carelessness for physical labor and work, Ivan was careless when it came to a moral compass. Ivan’s business was thievery and he wanted the brainless braun that was Steve Harrow.

So he recruited him and so began the once young farm boy’s life of crime. Now pickpocketing and bread snatching wasn’t Steve’s expertise, but protecting Ivan once the deed was done was. Ivan would nab something and Steve would simply wait for him to arrive at the checkpoint and help him fight off the helpless store owners if the need arose. These petty crimes went unnoticed by the law until a quick bout with hired crime abruptly ended the duos endeavors.

Ivan informed Steve that an ‘individual of impressive stature required their services’... at least that’s how Ivan put it. Of course Steve agreed; they were to steal an ornate rapier from the local blacksmith shop. The job started off like any other, Steve stood by some easy to recognize landmark and Ivan went off to grab what they were stealing. Except this time Ivan didn’t return within the usual thirty minutes… nor did he return within the next hour… or the next one which began to raise suspicion within Steve. Just as he had decided he was going to go see what went wrong he heard Ivan’s voice yelling to arrest Steve. He had been set up. Of course his instant reaction was shock but Steve moved more towards hurt… and then back towards shock because honestly he didn’t know what came next.

What came next was a jail cell and Steve did not enjoy the confined space of a cold cell. After only 3 hours Steve had made up his mind, he was going to get out somehow. He thought long and hard trying to formulate a complex plan of escape and just as he thought he was getting somewhere he heard the guard jingle his keys and unlock the door. Apparently petty theft wasn’t as serious a crime as he thought because they simply let him out.

Steve Harrow spent his first few days out of prison trying to be better. He got a nice job working on another farm. Slowly Steve began to see himself working harder and harder, although he didn’t know it at the time his life of crime had forced him to focus on a single task and work at it. Apparently this transferred over to farming (who knew). Steve eventually bored himself of the farm and decided to set out for a new profession. Which led Steve to the Oserian Military where he began to learn how to fight and other disciplines. Over time he began to distance himself from even that and he was relieved of his duties.

Steve now travels in search of a place to call home and a job that suits him longer than a few days.

Open-ended questions
At least three must be answered. Delete the spares(if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each of the answered questions.

Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

Answer: Quickly Steve stumbles his way towards the woman. He grabs her by the shoulder crouching down slightly examining her wound. His eyes drift slowly back up to the fleeing back of the thief before dropping back down, he knows he is far too drunk to play the hero today.

“Are- are you okay?” he spits out finally, a dumb question now that he thinks about it.

“Get some help!” she yells back in pain. Steve nods furiously before his vision gets blurry again and he feels his stomach begin to rumble.

“Sorr-” he got out before the vomit came covering the poor woman's face. He felt other people brushing past him to left the woman, helping her up. Not exactly the finest moment in the life of Steve Harrow.

Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

Answer: Steve clenched his fists firmly before letting his arms fall back to his side. “Okay, I can wait.” he said through gritted teeth. He turned on his heels slowly before making his way into the camp. He was abruptly greeted by a child nearly knocking him off his feet. After regaining his bearings Steve made his way past the many stalls looking for something to eat. He finally found a stall smelling of raw fish, at least it was food. “What’s the best you have?” Steve piped up with a broad smile. The vendor only blinked back as he laid out the different fish he had available.

“You pick.” he mumbled. The corners of Steve’s mouth fell slowly before he looked down between the fish deciding how he was going to take his poison.

“Ummm… this one I guess?” Steve half questioned before the vendor slapped it into his arms and extended his own hand for the payment. Steve placed the coins in his hand and made his way back out of the camp.

Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

Answer: The bloodied sword grew heavier in Steve’s hand as he approached the mourning soldier. He threw a look over his shoulder before getting closer to the enemy. The soldier looked up at him with a blank look in his eye behind the tears. Steve stared back into the poor man's eyes and stood there a while. The enemy began to collect his bearings and rise to his feet slowly. As the man got up Steve’s sword went down. Steve threw his head to the side gesturing for the man to leave. He did so rather blindly stumbling around until an arrow sank deep into his back. Steve whipped around quickly seeing that his act of mercy had been rendered useless.

Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
