Name:
Thomas Allweather
Age:
28
Culture:
North-Oserian
Can your character read and write?:
He can read and write his signature.
Story & Biography
Thomas Allweather lived all his time on his parents farm in the small village in the Duchy of Avendale. He assisted his parents since he was eleven years old. His Family Name Allweather came from the fact, that his family was know for their ability to work even in the worst cases. There could be strong rain, wind, even lightning storm, the Allweathers were working on the field, taking care of the crops. This Resilience to weather was passed down the generations. After his parents death, he was 19 at that time, he inherited the farm. He grows mainly weed on the farm and also has a small barn with a few Cows and Pigs.
He learned from his parents a bit of etiquette, because he sometimes got tasked with delivering a part of the family earnings to the noble watching over their farm. He got taughed that the nobles where these angelic people, perfect and evercaring. He was also taught very strict manners: Don't talk to someone with a higher Rank as you, unless they want something from you. Don't decline a order from an authority, no matter what it is. If an Authority wants sends for you, you stop what your doing immediatly and get there as fast as possible. His parents also taught him a little medicine. Its not hospital-standard but at least he knows a few first aid things and a few home remedies.
He also enjoys going to the tavern after a long work day, trying to sell them some of his self-made beer, or walking around town and simply enjoying life. He trusts people very easy, which somtimes can be an mistake, but he simply doesnt learn. Eventhough he goes to the tavern he doesnt drink alcohol. But he couldnt say No to smoking a pipe of "Dry Smoke" with some nice guys (and girls) there. He also enjoys to take walks after taking care of the Farm. His favourite place to do that is the "Old Witch Forrest", a small Forrest near his home. The Forrest has its Name, because the first villagers in that area thought the Forrest was cursed and that Witches would live there. But this superstition was disproved.
Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.
Question 1
You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...
I run over to the woman while shouting for the guards. The guards can take down a armed thief, I cant. I instead try to keep her alive as long as it takes for the guards to alarm a real doctor. If the doctors and or guards arrive I will do what I'm told until they tell me I'm no longer needed. Then I am going to go home and in the next morning go to the hospital to asked if shes alright. If she dies, I will feel a bit guilty but will remind myself, that I did everything I could have done.
Question 2
You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?
I try and make the best out of this. Because that happened before I half expect that now and take a set of dice and a set of cards with me. I am going to enjoy my time in the camp talking to the other farmers who got there, playing cards or dice, depending on the mood. And maybe I can sell some of my wares here too.
Question 3
You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...
I am a bit weirded out by the situation, but I am going to try that strange persons strange food. Maybe I do like it. If dont, I at least know what I am never going to eat again.
Question 4
In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…
I look at them and my emotions just go blank. No Rage no real Mercy, just emptiness. In my Mind I start repeating the orders my General gave us. "Dont spare them, as they are your enemies." I repeat it faster and faster, as I put my sword towards the soldiers head and slit his throat. I look a last time knowing that I will never forget this soldiers face and start sprinting back to my comrades.
Question 5
You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?
I don't really understand why they are like that but try nevertheless to find a place where I can stay atleast a couple days. If they dont want me here, I am atleast going to try to find a merchant, stock up on supplies and then I am going to leave the village.
