Section 2/4 - Terms & Definitions
Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).

What do you define as roleplaying?

- I define roleplaying as taking on the role of a character with their own set of ideas, mindset, and actions.

Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words:

- The term powergaming, to me, is the act of forcing others to act/emote a certain way based on the actions of the one initiating it. For example: *After striking with the sword, you would fall to your knees, unable to resist the force of the strike!*

Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words:

- Metagaming is using knowledge your character would not know in an IC interaction or for a character.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?

- A Mary-Sue character is one that is seemingly flaw-free and so perfect that it is considered to be overly generic and stale.

What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?

- Out of Character; This should be used when players communicate with each other outside of Roleplaying.

Section 3/4 - Character Creation

Name:

- Aestrid Holvega

Age:

- 26

Culture:

- Northerner

Story & Biography:

- An Outsider Joins the Fray

In the harsh climates of the North, many lay hidden away from the main villages and cities. Of these, the Holvega family is hidden deep beneath the feet of snow that covers the ground. The eldest daughter, Aestrid, grew tired of her family's isolation and sought to find company in the other Northerners that occupy the lands. Her father, a very conservative and stubborn man, preferred the guraunteed safety of their shelter and often reminded his daughter of the dangers that surround them. Aestrid grew up a hunter and fighter, often sparring with her younger brothers.

-Braving the Wild
Upon Aestrid's 26th birthday, she had managed to convince her father of her capabilities as a hunter and with her skills with a weapon. She had shown that she was tough enough to survive the climate, and the dangers that scattered throughout the war-torn wilderness. But such was when disaster struck. As Aestrid prepared her departure for one of the Jarldoms, she heard a cry from her youngest brother, only aged 12.

She soon ran to see what had caused such a shriek, but such was when she saw the behemoth before her: A Grulk man had wounded her brother. Quickly, she armed herself and ran to challenge the primal creature that had stood in front of her. With a swift swipe, the beast had tossed aside the young boy and stood to accept Aestrid's challenge. The clash began, yet would not last long as Aestrid was very quick to realize she was no match for such a beast. It was not long before she had been knocked to her back, looking up at the club that would soon be her fate. Time seemed to have stopped as she watched the club swing downwards, but was interrupted by a horrendous shout from the Grulk. Just as the club would have connected with Aestrid, her father had pierced the beast with a well-placed spear. Such had not killed the man-beast, yet it was wounded.

Getting to her feet, she stood with her father and her other brother, only a few years her junior. Her youngest brother laid incapacitated, yet if any of them were to live they had to bring the beast down. The battle was a quick one, yet the impacts were significant. The trio managed to bring the beast down, yet not without casualty. Aestrid's father had taken a direct blow from the club, one that he would not wake from. As Aestrid and her brother tried to wake their youngest sibling, their actions were to no avail.

- Leaving the Nest
After the encounter with the Grulk had left their family shattered, Aestrid and her brother decided it would be the best for them to part ways, to each search for their Northern kin and to start a new life, one that would allow their new families protection, and to dedicate their services to the North's struggle against the Drahl.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.
Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

- pause, but only briefly. The Oserians mean naught to Aestrid. She looks to the woman, then to the jewelry that the man had looted from her. She considers going after the man for the jewels- but not to return, rather to keep for herself. She decides against it, she knew that she could likely take the man, but she could not take on multiple of the city guardsmen at once, at least by herself. She continues on her way, ignoring the woman, after all, she's no more than a greedy Osarian to her.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

- take the food, but do not consume it. Rather than play the Drahl's game, Aestrid tosses the unknown substance to the wicked crone and draws her blade. She would engage the Drahl in battle, with her great hatred towards the Drahl, she would have no remorse or feel any guilt in slaying the ratchet woman where she stood. Not knowing what sort of tricks the woman had, Aestrid would aim to end the engagement quickly with the intent of killing the being with no remorse. Given she is able to best the foul creature, she would pierce its heart with her spear, calling out "Filthy Drahl scum.."

Question 5

You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

- Aestrid would continue to approach the village, as a Northerner herself she hopes that the residents will take a less skeptical approach, yet she accepts that she will not be welcomed right away. As she enters the village she sought the Thane or Chieftan, as she did not yet know how the village was structured. She would introduce herself to whomever lead the village, telling them of her story with the hopes that they will accept her as she wishes to dedicate her skills to their aid. She would take up any task that would show her loyalty to the clan, or residents, and hope they deem her worthy to stay within their settlement.
