What is your age?
(We need to know this as our server has an age restriction)

Have you read the server rules? (Found here)

Do you agree with the server rules?

How did you hear about Tale of Banners?

Searched for medieval style role play servers

Do you have any previous roleplay experience?
(Please give examples, no experience is acceptable)

I do not. I have been looking for a good roleplay server for a few days and have tried some out, but I have not found any that I have liked.

Additional Information: (If any)

Not really

Section 2/4 - Terms & Definitions
Please answer these definitions using your own words, the definitions may be researched however not plagiarized (copy-pasted).

What do you define as roleplaying?

Roleplaying is immersing yourself into a character to fully experience their reality and to also have fun!

Describe the term ‘powergaming’ in your own words:

Not super familiar with the term, but I believe it is where you try to become an overpowered character without giving other characters to respond to what you are doing. Basically you want your powerful character to fit your specific narrative and don't let anyone else decide.

Describe the term ‘metagaming’ in your own words:

When your character knows something that they could not possibly know. Like you in real life know how to write but your character doesn't and then you try to write.

What is a "Mary-Sue" character?

A perfect character with no imperfections.

What does the abbreviation ‘OOC’ mean & when should this be used?

OOC means out of character. Could be used when you believe a player is doing something their character would not normally do.

Section 3/4 - Character Creation
Here you will create an example character that could exist in the server’s history and lore.

Provide us with an in-game screenshot of your character’s skin.

Every time I try to upload a screenshot of my skin, it says that the file is too big. Any tips? (Minecraft UUID / Username Converter)
I put a link so you could see my skin though.

Daniel Snellson

Can your character read and write?:

Can read for the most part, cannot write

Story & Biography (please go into detail, we recommend two paragraphs but expect at least one. Please outline character history, personality traits and the things that make your character unique. Have fun with this section!)

Daniel is a commoner in the Oserians. His father, Thomas Snellson, and his mother, Harriet Snellson, have unfortunately recently died due to sickness. His mother died about a year ago, and his father stayed around for another year teaching him all he knows about farming and animals before passing away too. Thomas' last words on his deathbed were for his son to continue their family legacy and someday make a name for himself. Taking this to heart, Daniel wants to establish him as one of the hardest working farmers in the land. Because he is just starting out as a young farmer, Daniel does not yet have the full respect of those around him. They still see him as a boy, though they do respect his resilience in losing his mother and father. Daniel does not own much of anything... he is possibly looking to rent out a small cottage or something until he has the resources to build his own little property. However, he does have some materials to start his farm. Daniel is looking to become one of the greatest farmers out there.

Because of his losses in the family, he does have a lack of trust. Daniel does not want to invest so heavily into relationships, friendships, etc. because he is subconsciously afraid of them leaving him. Also because of his tragedies, his education has come to a halt. His father and mother primarily taught him in their free time to read. However, they did not get to teaching him how to write properly. Sure, he can write some gibberish but no one can read it anyways. Daniel also has a bit of a drinking problem from losing his parents; he tries to hide away from his own reality. Furthermore, Daniel does not believe in the One. In fact, he has no religious ties anymore because he doubts that a god could take away everything from him. Lastly, Daniel has taken it upon himself to try to become a great farmer, and then one day join the army as a marksman. He tends to practice with his makeshift bow on the side where he one day wants to bring honor to his family for his service.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions
Please answer at least three of the questions to show how your character would interact with the world. Delete the spares (if applicable). Please include at least one paragraph for each question you answer.

Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

Try to tend to the woman as best as possible. Running after the thief and capturing him or her would be cool and all, but seeing the woman in critical condition die because I wanted to be a hero would be a hard pill to swallow.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

I spend my time in the camp minding my own business. My character has trust issues and does not eagerly engage in conversation. I mainly try to plot to see how I could be able to further my farming business by myself.

Question 3

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

Decide to have a little bit of the food. While I do need the food, I probably don't need all of it to survive. I just have maybe half or a quarter just to appease my hunger and hope it is not unpleasant.

Question 4

In the midst of battle, you find yourself approaching a wounded enemy soldier. The soldier is on the floor, clearly in terror as they cradle one of the dead. Enemy forces begin to advance in the distance and you know you have to act fast. The soldier then grasps at a cloth and removes it from the dead soldiers pocket. They continue to cry, and starts calling the dead soldier's name in despair. Then the soldier glances up to see you - with your weapon up - but does not care of your approach, continuing to cradle the dead soldier. You…

I try to quickly and quietly help out the wounded enemy soldier. With my character having lost both of his parents already, he knows what loss is like. He tries to comfort the wounded enemy soldier as best as he can without anyone seeing. He values his morals but also values his honor as well.

Question 5

You have wandered across a seemingly endless tundra for what have felt like days. A raging snowstorm makes you unable to see more than a few metres ahead. Being almost out of resources, you are delighted to find out that you have stumbled your way to a village. Upon closer inspection you find out it's a Northern village, and the residents are not very friendly towards strangers. What do you do in this dire situation?

I try to see if I can trade with them. Even though they might not be friendly, I'm sure some money or something for a quick meal and a bed would be a decently fair trade.
