Story & Biography

- Emeline grew up in a poor household in the deserts of Esna, where she would help make clothes and run errands for her ill father, who lost mobility from working in the mines. After her remaining family passed away, she had to live on the sandy streets and pick up odd jobs to keep her belly full. Em has an affinity for music, but has never had the luxury of owning her own instrument. Instead, the girl often finds herself listing as performers play in public. Despite not understanding a wide majority of it, she loves listening to men and women reading literature. She especially loves the philosophers who always side with the poor when they travel through the roads.

She often wishes there was something she could do about the obvious social issues, but Emeline knows her place. Violence makes her sick and her voice isn't often taken seriously. When she isn't working or listening to the people in the streets, Em is listening to politics in bars and trying to meet more people that could open up a working opportunity. Emeline is skeptical, but welcoming, choosing to give people the benefit of the doubt more often than not, despite how others have treated her.

The brunette is very taken with the religion skeptics when they pass by, but also finds herself listening to people preach about the Sun and how it brings peace. She tries to keep an open mind, but finds herself shying away from the more orthodox World of Light followers.

Section 4/4 - Open-ended questions

Question 1

You stumble outside into the open air after some heavy drinking in an Oserian tavern. Just before you're about to pass an alleyway, a hooded man rushes out of it and runs for it - seemingly, he has both a blade and some jewellery on him. You take a quick peek in the alleyway to see a feminine figure collapsed on the ground, holding her hands over a bleeding wound in her torso. The thief is about to escape and the woman seems in critical condition. You...

-Em's coordination may be off, but she knows the scene in front of her isn't innocent. As the thief leaves the scene of the crime, the brunette rushes to the fallen woman. She's clearly of high status, judging by how much jewelry and riches she's displaying even after being robbed. Emeline has half a mind to take some for herself, but restrains. She was taught better than that. The shorter woman turns around from the hallway, hoping for some sort of medic to appear. She isn't native to the area and isn't quite sure how to find help, or if anyone of her status would be welcomed. Especially with a noble woman injured.

The Korsian woman helps prop the older lady against a wall, asking where she should take her. The lady seems annoyed, but gasps out brief directions. It takes a moment, but Emeline is able to stand the noble woman up and walk her out of the alley. The sparse people walking by give her a hard stare, but to Em's annoyance, don't offer assistance. Once in front of the surprisingly close home of the noble woman, a man rushed out, quickly grabbing the woman, clearly worried. Without any acknowledgement, he brings the lady inside and shuts the door. Emeline stands outside for a moment, stunned and somewhat hurt, then turns back around to the tavern. After all, there isn't anywhere else for her to go.

Question 2

You are on your way to the Korsian city of Telth to sell some wares. Upon reaching the front gates you are stopped by the guard. They deny you entry for the time being as the traffic into the city is too high. You are effectively forced to wait in the refugee camp located between the two gates for the time being. The camp is
filled with shopping stalls and refugees sleeping on the floor. How do you spend your time in the camp?

-This isn't Emeline's first time in a place like this, and she foresees it won't be her last time, either. The stalls of food remind her of just how hungry she is from days of traveling, which reminds her of why she's traveling in the first place. A shady man asked her to deliver a mystery blend of herbs to the city. The thought made her tighten her grip on her bag out of paranoia.

Her first step is something to eat. Part of her payment for the delivery was up front, and as much as she'd love to spend it all in one night, she rations the money as purchases a foreign fruit. The vendor's accent is thick, but had a kind and weary smile as she hands in the payment. It's strange to be around people in her position. No one here had a home, she assumed. At least, most of them didn't.

It doesn't seem like Em will be let in for the night, so she settles for a nice, cramped spot to lay down in the middle of people. Nobody seems disturbed that a grimy street girl is settling next to them. Honestly, most of the refugees are off worse than her. Bathing was a privilege. Emeline tucks her satchel under her body, praying nobody takes interest in robbing her in her sleep, and closes her eyes, resting her weary body before continuing her task.

You've gotten lost and wandered awhile into Drahl lands, eventually finding yourself in Crookmire Swamp, where you decide to settle for the night. Finding a meal to buy for the evening takes some effort, but you do come across an old crone in ragged clothing, who offers to sell you some sea-looking food. She doesn't ask much, but warns you that eating it is 'unpleasant' to outsiders. You...

- The brunette delightfully ignores her warning and hands over the currency. Emeline has had food poisoning several times, but despite all of her instincts screaming no, she takes a bite. Its slimy and burns the way down, but its food and Em had been traveling for too long. It settles in her stomach uncomfortably, twisting and turning, threatening to come back up, but she can't spare the lost liquids. The dark eyed girl keeps a fist pressed to her mouth as she searches for a place to spend the night. Oh, how she had made a mistake. How was she to sleep with the horrid sensation in her body. The old woman must have been laughing to herself right about now, Emeline concluded as she gagged.

You’re almost there! Your application is pending.

There are only a few things to change for a final decision.

Make the following edits to your application:

1.Your biography does not use server lore. You will need two lore items, one which must not be a location. You can use things such as religion, flora, and fauna.

Once that is done, make a comment affirming you have made these changes and your application will be reviewed again as soon as possible.

Good luck!
